Kristia’s first involvement with Animal Aid goes back to January of 2011, when her dog Ellie arrived from Georgia on the very first caravan. Kristia made her first trip on an Animal Aid Caravan in November of 2015, joined three others and is planning on more in the future. As a Lab tech for the USDA, she researches plant diseases and works on developing better disease resistance in blueberries and cranberries.

Since the age of 12 (and a little Kodak 110), Kristia has been photographing nature, landscape, architecture and pets. At that young age, allowance was spent on film and developing photos, and she continued photography as her hobby. Three years ago, at friends’ urging, she started professional photography, does some client commission work, as well as fine art photography. Kristia attempts to be at as many arrival days as possible to document the dogs’ “homecoming”, she loves to show the Georgia team that their pups have arrived safely.
