Sarah was born and raised in Southern New Jersey, where through her mother and grandmother, she learned the importance of animal welfare for both wild and domesticated creatures. Her greatest influences were these two women who selflessly gave their time and love to help animals in need. Her father worked his entire career in nonprofit fundraising, so she was introduced at an early age the significance of philanthropy.

It wasn’t until she adopted her first dog from Georgia in 2010 that she became aware of the plight of dogs and cats in rural America. This drove her to get involved to help these animals, and through a friend was introduced to Animal Aid USA. Sarah went on her first caravan in November 2015 and was hooked. She has since traveled several times with the volunteers and helps with arrivals in New Jersey. Sarah lives in the New Jersey Pine Barrens with her husband Jon, her three dogs Chooch, Blanche and Raven and her two cats Stitch and Rosie. Her spare time, when not hanging out with her husband and fur family, is spent reading history books, gardening, photography and enjoying the serenity of the Pine Barrens.
