Driven by a deep passion for animals, Jodie Richers founded Dogs on Death Row in 2007.
Having worked in the nonprofit arena for many years as the director for One Child At A Time (an international aid and adoption organization), and also as a board member for Children’s Charities of America, Jodie possesses a skill set ideal for leveraging dollars into the most efficient action possible to save the greatest number of dogs.
Thank you to the Zoology Foundation, who provide us vital grants enabling us to continue our mission! The mission of the Zoology Foundation is to improve the lives of animals through educational programming and rescue, and by teaching the connectedness between animals and humans.
They believe in order to get to the point where animals are treated with respect and regarded as gifts to the planet and humans; we must start with educating the future generations on the benefits of a healthy relationship between animals and humans.
The BISSELL Pet Foundation exists to assist animal welfare organizations. This includes helping to reduce the number of animals in shelters and rescues through pet adoption, spay neuter programs, microchipping and foster care.

The Animal Welfare Funding Alliance – The Animal Welfare Funding Alliance Corp., (TAWFA) is a 501(c) 3 Nonprofit Organization. TAWFA performs fundraising for organizations who rescue at risk pets from high kill shelters and communities. They are all volunteer organizations who provide these pets to have an opportunity for a new home via subsequent adoption.
Dating back to our very first trip to Georgia in January 2011, Asphalt Paving Systems have been supporting our mission. It was a borrowed van from this company that set up the future of our efforts. Every 28 days since this first trip we have returned to Georgia to save and relocate unwanted animals.
Robert “Bobby” Capoferri and Kenny Messina recently heard of our struggles to find an arrival location since we have outgrown previous locations. WIthout any hesitation at all, a perfect location was granted to us with full permission to use every 28 days. We are so grateful for this support!
Wayne Denny is always ready to help us with our mission. Through his company , he donates the portapots for our arrival location and services it every month.
Through their company, Jim and Janine Donnelly support our mission by providing all the vehicle maintenance on our rig along with our truck. We absolutely feel so protected and safe on these long journeys every month knowing they are there for us for whatever we need for the animals. They also enable us to get huge donations of supplies to Georgia by sending their tractor trailers and drivers , whenever we ask.
Located right next door to our arrival location , Greg Crescenzo, founder and owner of Atlantic Investigations, donates his time to remove any snow and makes sure the parking lot is safe for our arrival every month. They also make sure our veterinarian unit ,that is set up prior to our arrival, is safe and protected.
